I'm new in this forum. I'm from Spain, maybe my English is not perfect. I am 25, and I am male, and I doesn't have body modifications (for the moment).

I was wondering if It's possible to replace the teeth with a titanium teeth. It could be like the current gold implants, but with titanium. I'm not referring to the current implants with ceramic pieces, I mean a teeth with only titanium pieces. Did You see Moonraker? (James Bond movie) Jaws had something like this, but... I want it with nice teeth with the same shape than natural teeth, not something robotic!

It's possible to do this? Do You know if someone has this modification? Does titanium teeth have advantages over natural teeth? Maybe, It could be stronger, cleaner, less problems with caries. Also, every tooth could have a perfect size, position, shape... my current mouth are far from perfect.

Also, It is important to know if a titanium teeth needs visiting the dentist periodically. I would prefer to have it and forgot all the problems of the natural teeth and get rid of the dentist visits.

Can You imagine to be able to open a bottle with your own mouth, without bottle opener and without risk for your teeth? Or being able to eat sweet product without problems of caries? Or eat nuts opening them with your own mouth without damaging your teeth? It would be great, but I must to know the problems that could have this body modification.

I know that this could be difficult, expensive and not reversible. I should be sure before doing this crazy modification.

youd still have to brush them because everything in your mouth gets coated in plaque. i've actually thought about this too. seems like a good idea.

Yes, I should brush teeth to have my mouth clean.

You would still need regular dental visits to ensure that your gums are healthy.  Also, many diseases can be detected by oral exams, before you have any symptoms (diabetes is one of these diseases).  Without visits to the dentist, and proper cleaning below the gum line, you could develop gingivitis or periodontal disease, even without regular teeth.  It would keep cavities from ever being a problem again.

I'm sure this COULD be done, but finding someone willing and able to do it is another story.

Rather than use ceramic or whatever they use for implants, just use titanium.

Finding someone that could do it would be another matter. Tooling titanium to the right shape would be very expensive.

I don't know about Spain, but I know that in the eastern United States tooth implants cost around $2500 each. Good luck in your endeavors.

Oral cancers are usually detected via routine dental visits. In the future, certain mdecines you may be prescribed could have a detremental effect to the health of the gingiva, necessitating the advice of a dentist at the very least.

It would be important to see a dentist annually to make sure you're not exhibiting signs of gingivitis (which leads to perio disease) because this leads to loss of the alveolar bone, which the posts for the implants would be screwed into. Avoiding gingivitis and resulting periodontitis is easy (unless you're one of the unlucky few who suffers due to hereditory factors) with good oral hygiene, using things like interdental brushes and flossing every day whilst using a good mouth wash.

And again, like I've said to many people enquiring about extreme cosmetic dental treatment, finding a good dental practitioner who will do the work for you will be hard - it's drummed into them from the moment they begin training that they should always preserve healthy natural teeth where possible.

With titanium, like Alectrosex said, the implants will be more expensive. I'd imagine somewhere above $3000 at least.

I don't know if this helps but I once knew of a woman who had metal (Chromium I believe) dentures for eating. She had such a strong 'bite' that she broke plastic ones repeatedly.

If you would consider dentures rather than implants this may provide a cheaper solution. If still available
