My lobe was at a 12 yesturday and i just stretched it up to a 10 last night with absoloutly no pain or discomfort. Today its only the slightest bit pink and it only hurts a little when i move it around. Also this morning there no blood.

Heres my dilemma. The steel taper i have now is heavy on the back and is pulling down and its very noticible and i have this family reunion/dinner thing tomorrow and it doesnt look too nice. For the dinner i need to wear nice clothes and this big silver spike hanging from my ear just wont work. I defenetly dont want to put in a smaller earring, and i dont have any 10ga. earring. I only have a 12 titanium one which i dont want to
Put in cuz its smaller, and i have a black 8ga. Taper. That taper would be great but i dont know of my ear is ready to stretch again.

Do you think i could stretch again tonight after a shower or maye tomorrow?

Also, how could i speed up the healing process? If i cant take it out and i have to wear it tomorrow, id still like some tips to speed up the process. Maybe save a couple days.

Thanks,
Dan

No. Put your 12ga jewelry back in. If you ears are pink and it hurts when you move them then they probably would benefit from a little while longer at 12ga.

Well the 12 was in for a good 2-2 1/2 months

you can get to really big diameters, but don't haste

if you want to damage your ear, continue in this tempo, if you don't, you should be patient.

so as BrandonV said, you should rather downsize than haste.

ok, so it seems you can stretch to 10g. not to 8g - look at xunstoppablex, he stredched to cca. 10 cm (4 inches), so he is probably the one to give advice and he wrote "don't skip sizes" which is what you intend to.

if you need something nicer, take the 12g back for a while, then stretch again.

What is the rush?  Put the 12ga in until the wedding is over. Massage your ears with jojoba oil and when the wedding is over the 10ga will slip right in.

No. Don't put random objects in your piercings.

Well it was a tube that sucks up water and you use it to squirt water in to the bottom of soil for plants and i jst cut off the tip and it happened to be the exact size...

Plastic is made out of hardened chemicals. Those chemicals are poisonous for your body.

What if i put patrolium jelly on it? Could that protect my ear?and its only for 6 hours...

If you don't have the proper jewelry, you shouldn't of stretched your ear.

Before stretching you should be prepared with next size up jewelry.  Sticking random things in your ear is never a good idea, and petroleum jelly is definitely not going to do any good for your ear, especially since you just stretched it.

I would downsize back to that 12g that you have, let your ear calm down for a couple weeks (makesure you clean it with sea salt soaks), BUY proper sized jewelry in the meantime and then try to stretch up to that 10g.

After only a few hours your piercing won't shrink back. If you put the 12g in for the wedding, I'm sure you'll be able to stretch back up to 10g easily.
If not, follow tangerinee's advice. And don't put any random stuff into your piercings.

you shouldn't be thinking about putting random objects in your piercings, expecially those which you found in your back garden. I wouldn't contemplate putting that in a healed piercing let alone a fresh stretch.
You have three options:
- Put the 12g back in for the wedding, if you were really ready to stretch to a 10g, you won't have a problem putting the 10g in afterwards.
- Go and buy a 10g plug before the family dinner. You shouldn't be wearing tapers as jewellery as they are heavy and put pressure on the fistula.
- Take your jewellery out and leave it out. Start stretching again when you're serious about it and will do it properly, rather than ignoring all the good advice you've been given.

And no, petroleum jelly won't protect your ear, as it provides the ideal warm moist environment which bacteria thrive in.

i agree with yerevan

start again when you are serious and have the proper jewelley to do this

one night with the 12g in wont do much diference to the size of your ear. you waited 2 months whats another 6 hours ?

I'm new here and just want to say... great advice! What's the hurry, you know?
I hope you decide to just slip the 12 back in for the party and go from there.

from what ive been told you shouldn't use a taper as your jewelery cos its causes too much stress from the weight. i think you should invest in proper plug or ring or barbell before going up2 10g again.

at that size tapers are okay, its usually 6g+ that tapers become an issue
