i had an operation today and i loved the reaction i got by the doctors and nurses. for the first time ever, medical staff were actually interested instead of judgmental. they were asking about my microdermal and how it stayed in, how they pierced my septum, how many piercings i had, if i wanted any more, if i went to the same person every time. they joked about how they shouldn't even be giving me anesthetic if i could deal with all that metal in me and able to cope with having tattoos done. i had such a fun time. so yeah, if you're heading to the NHS soon, don't take the piercings out. whack a bit of tape over them and wait for the questions! oh yeah, and i'm fine by the way lol. nothing serious. ------------- well i might have somethin' to say about that, space man! |

that's the one thing that worries me...
if i ever need an op and they make me take my stoof out

| I had a tumor removed off of my spine about 6 months ago, and they were preety cool about them. i love in such a small freakin town, and while i was half sedated, they were asking me stuff like "Dont you work at the tattoo shop in town" i actually rather enjoyed talking to the nurses and doctors about it. |

I had a surgery on my leg and the nurses wanted me to take out my nipple piercing. I didn't see their point and refused it, so they taped it.
I could understand, if it's somewhere close to the place of the surgery...
But my anesthesiologist was totally facinated... he still didn't want me to look, when he gave me the injection until I told him, that the only thing bothering me is that I wont have another piercing after being poked

they said they had to know if i had piercings because they sometimes use a machine that would affect any metal in my body. but they said it was alright and that they didn't have to use it. my operation was on my arm, and very close to my nipple piercings, but no worries  ------------- well i might have somethin' to say about that, space man! |

I live in quite a narrow minded area ( mostly the older people/chavs which is what 90% of the people that live here ) & I've been asked about mine even though they arn't unusual or anything :]

When I had surgery I had to take all mine out and before I could stand or see straight I was trying to put my tongue ring back in because it was my newest piercing. Needless to say I looked like a idiot trying to balance something on my tongue because I kept missing and could barely life my arms. I had a bad experience I done something that ended up me being un-concious in hospital. While i was on a drip my mum had the nurse remove all my piercings. So I dont like that nurse ha.
But the other time i had to go to get a few stitches and the doctor said he thinks my tattoos give me a unique beauty I was pretty suprised but it did make me smile.
I think its cool that they are intrested though. sorta like whena old lady says she likes your tattoo. ------------- give me explosives |
