I REALLY liked Foo Fighters' version of Band on the Run by Wings.
But of course, it wasn't released on an album, so it's impossible to find to download on buy.

I WANT THAT FUCKING SONG!!!

And of course, every Get The Led Out cover of Zep songs.  I'm obsessed.

That's a stream for Band On The Run...although I'm pissed because it's too long for bodymod to let me upload it to my player, and I can't find it for download anywhere.

Hurt(live performance) by Sevendust covering Johnny Cash's version of the NIN song.  It's a rare recording but they did an amazing job on it.

actually whisky in the jar is a traditional irish drinking song as far as i know.

baby got back is an awesome cover - so much better than the original!

Phantom of the Opera - Lacrimosa.

this cover kicks arse and is actually better than sarah brightman and michael crawford. i don't particularly like michael crawford's voice... its a bit too weak methinks. Lacrimosa made a killer cover! oh, and Gerard Butler's got a much nicer voice and i adore the version of the musical-movie with gerard butler as the phantom ^_^ [drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!!!!!!!!!!]

OH YEAH!

Almost forgot.

I got to see Coheed and Cambria cover Iron Maiden's 'The Trooper' live...with Claudio Sanchez playing the solo with his guitar behind his head.

Fucking amazing.  And I must say, Travis sounds an awful lot like Bruce Dickinson when he sings!!!

Ryan Adams' version of "Wonderwall" is infinitely better than Oasis'..
The Smiths are my favorite band and usually I'm picky about covers, so here are some I thought were pretty sick:

Parenthetical Girls - Handsome Devil
VV Brown - This Charming Man
and this:

Death Cab's cover of "This Charming Man" sucks, and is furthermore useless ahaha P: and I am saying that as a fan of both bands!

As an enormous Marilyn Manson fan, I thoroughly enjoy his Sweet Dreams, though his version of Rock & Roll N*gger is excellent, as well.

I like Evergreen Terrace's version of Mad World.

I also Trent Reznor's cover of Dead Souls by Joy Division.

Me First & the Gimme Gimmes are awesome with covers. Check out their covers of The Boxer by Simon & Garfunkel, and their cover of Goodbye Earl by The Dixie Chicks.

Johnny Cash covered Hurt rather nicely.

I honestly like Fall Out Boy, but don't get me ranting on how bad their rendition of Love Will Tear Us Apart is.

AFI had a spiffy version of Last Caress by The Misfits.

I fucking love so many covers and so many bands. :P
