Hi there,

I recently watched a video with an interview with Fakir Musafar where he talks about native american branding, which is done by inserting a needle under the skin, heating it up so it'll burn the skin. You can find the video on youtube (Minute 12):

The moment he said this I was totally appealed by it. So by now I'm researching a bit about how this could be done (what needle, how deep, how to heaten it, how long it takes).

Does anyone around here has done this or knows some resources?

Thanks,
Sebastian

So I don't know if I watch the part you were talking about but to me it just sounded like they stuck pine needles in to the skin then lit them on fire till they burn up and into the skin leaving a mark.

^^ Correct. He was describing a native ritual of fire direct branding. Insert 'pine needles' under skin, light, let flame burn down into skin. This was more done for initiation/rite of passage.
The same is done with Tibetan Temple incense these days, as well as hundreds of years ago in Japan as a form of therapy called moxabustion. They generally used it as form of release/medicine.
