Does anyone know the story (fake or not, location, etc) behind this photo? I saw it the other day, and I'm thoroughly confused.

Just found this:

There is horrendous news for users of social networking in Brazil, which caused a young artist who takes a dead dog’s head to be attached permanently to his face by reason of art and looks to be a real dog like a human.

The face of this young man intentionally operated a dog’s head attached to the carcass in order to appear like a real dog man, this facial surgery photos uploaded in the local social networking. Seen clearly how the process of merging the head of a dog into a handsome young man’s face until her face really looks perfect to be human dog. But as quoted ruanghati.com from a local media forum said that experts think it will not be permanent because the blood of humans and dogs are different and can not be put together so that over time the dog head that ignites it will rot."

the look of the edges around the ear in the middle photo....    looks like someone hurried a copy and paste.... the others are decently well shooped, but that one seems to stand out as the definitive that it's simply a "clever" shop job...

besides, how many times have you heard the news, or a journalistic organization, report on something that turned out to be nothing more than a hoax?

say if they actually tried to do this- wouldn't they have to peel off the human skin to attach the blood vessels?
(just looking at the image with the snout and the tube down the persons throat.) other things they could have tried to make the pics look real: antiseptic gels they use in surgery that look like betadine ie that leaves big orange marks, and drawings on the face of where they would stitch.
seen too many cosmetic surgery shows on tv to look twice at it really.

ps if someone tried it they'd deserve a kick to the gonads for killing the dog in my books:P growing some form of oddly shaped body part the way they can grow ears using human cells would make more sense for compatibility really.

I don't care if the animal was humanely euthanised, free from diseases and would've been cremated anyway.  It's NOT ok to desacrate an animal's body, and goverment "consent" doesn't make it any less immoral.

Not much bothers me, but that really did.
I'd kill someone if they did it to my dog, even if he died in his sleep, or was euthanized..

Immoral? Even if you believe in "souls" the soul is gone from the body... its just flesh. It's also just a dog. Nobodys hurting anyone or anything.

Regardless of the soul leaving the body. I believe there's an appropriate way to treat remains both human and animals. And that is with respect, at least for the life that used to be in it..

But hey, if it doesn't bother you, sign me a waiver and I'll parade the streets with your face and hands on mine once you're gone; sure your family and friends would love to "see you around" !!

Lol no I'm not joking nor am I retarded. An asshole, maybe.
The dog was already dead so it wasn't put through any pain for this piece of "art".

Onega, I really don't care what's happens to my body after I die. But to compare a dog and a human is as wrong to me as this artist and his work is to you.

I actually think this is quite cool. From an openminded artistic point of view.
As for the dog, lets just hope it wasn't killed just for the "art"

I don't care what happens to my body. I have the ability to vocalise that ambivalence.

There are so many reasons this wouldn't work. Muscle structures, nervous systems, an extended nasal passage, having to wait for the nerves to (possibly) connect before he can blink.

He's almost certainly go blind or suffocate in his sleep within a few days.

And yeah, the photoshopping is pretty awful in a couple of those pictures.

It's obviously not permanent.
I'm giving it a maybe on if it was done, looks like the guy wanted a crazy photoshoot.. (People have done crazier things for art)
But goddamn, the risk of infection would be outrageous. Suture through dead dog into face.. GROSS. Even if only left for a minute, sickening. The dog would have to had just died or else the tissue would be rotting.. Ick

i bet even the dog is still alive.. or it was all fake.. what gives it away is the nose, mouth, even the whole part of the face under the dogs face was left..  you dont put dermal skin under something and expect it to last.. but then you see the large stitches hold the things on like someone just stitched them on for the photos?  I could say prostetics that were stitched on for asthetics?  if the dog was real, the diseases would have already started before sewing them on..  wheres the blood?  so photoshop or prostetics?
