I started a thread like this in the "heavy modders and up" section by mistake and it was only about piercings but I wanted to ask about all mods. Have any of you ever seen a bad mod in a magazine? This is a picture of one. At first I didn't notice anything wrong. But then I looked at the ears. The bad part is, there's numerous pics of his ears.

the left ear ><

a tattoo magazine here [aus] did a huge feature on a tattoo shop know for tattooing underage people, terible quality work and really bad health and saftey standards.

all the work they showcased was of a guy who worked there for 6 months and left becuase of their shitty practices

Imagine a tiny elastic band hitting you in the ear very gently...

that is what I imagine the feeling will be in a couple of days when his ears give out entirely.

I would think literally taking the plugs out for a loooooong time and massaging the ear daily would maybe help... though with how it looks, he'll probably kill his ear and need surgery.

the skin on the plug looks red and angry...is that from stretching too fast? and is that skin now dying?

It actually looks like if he turns his head too quickly the weight of the tunnels will just rip his lobe apart :S

Woah, as if the tattoo on his neck isn't bad enough.

Those ears are so bad. What magazine was that? They should never be showing such unhealthy modification!

His ears are in a pretty bad status, i wonder if magazines actually look at that or if they don't care at all. Here i've never seen such a bad mod on a magazine, but i don't read every magazine we have here.

I mean here in italy we're possibly the opposite (with tattoos). In example a friend of mine is on this month Tattoo italia cover and they just photoshopped her scar out (without telling her, wich is bad) because it's not a tattoo (wich is a thing i don't like at all being done by a tattoo and body modification magazine!)

that jewelry is too heavy! what a plank if i were him id have them both reconstructed and start again even if he took them out it his lobes would have a job building up some collagen, looks like he just said, oh i need to look good for this photoshoot and just rammed those tunnels in,

Just to be devil's advocate (even though i'm believer in the long slow stretch), i don't think he's screwed his ears through stretching. That right one looks pretty freshly scalpelled to me.
Judging by the uneveness of the healed lobe tissue he's done multiple cuts over time.

The jewellery i guess is just for the photos though, as it's too wide and way too heavy.

Not my cup of tea, but i reckon those ears will be ok when they heal.
