Just an update here...I already posted this in another forum, but all those problems I was having with my ears turned out to be an allergy to silicon o-rings...after just two days with hoops in (also downsized to an 8ga from a 6ga) my ears look great, and best of all no pain anymore :)

I've seen nothing about acrylic.... bad? okay? I would love to start stretching (using tape) but I don't want to buy jewelry that I'm not supposed to wear during a fresh stretch.

glass (pyrex) and hypoallergenic metals (ie. titanium or stainless steel) for fresh stretches. :]

The best jewelry to wear would be a plug without a flare. Makes putting them in much safer for a fresh stretch.

There's one problem with reality... There's no background music
