I'm planning on getting my first tattoo soon, (when I can afford it) and my original plan was to get -
 But the more I look at it, the more I think it might get a little lost.. I want it on my right hip (or underneath my neck, leaning more towards hip though) but do any of you have any suggestions of what I could add to it?
I love stars but they're becoming so common now that I don't know what to do.... any ideas would be fabulous! =D Oh - it's Latin, it means 'As I breathe, I hope'.

you could always change the font style.filigry is also nice for lettering.think of your interests or style preferences and go from there.flowers,water,fire,depends on your style.

The font is my own choice :) I wanted something feminine but clear and went through loads and picked that.
I just want to add a little detail without drowning the words as they're the main part...

Depends on weather you want the decoration to be a symmectrical design ???
like something at each corner ? you want colour or b&w Maybe just some sweeping line work I recommend talking to your tattoo artist :D Edited by theViking - April/27/2008 at 6:12pm |

i actually think stars would be cute around it. the reason they're overdone is because they are cute on everything. i understand about not wanting it to look like every other girl's tattoo tho. i would pick out an artist and see what he can do with it, like theviking suggested. or you could always just get the words and spruce it up later :)

I think it would look cute with like a galaxy mist swirling through it. what does it mean.. sometimes if you get something that matches it helps. if that makes sence?

Depending on size you could have the letters not blocked and have shading inside them. That always looks wicked. Also you could decorate it with some lines flowing off of the lettering. If you like the idea of stars then go for. it's your tattoo and you should have what you want without worrying about whether other people have it. The galaxy mist idea is always awesome if done in a nice silvery greyscale.

the easter lilly is a symbol of hope beauty & life. I dont know if your into flowers, but that could work nicely, and keep with the whole meaning of it

filigry is always a nice partner with skript. and you can always make it flow nicely with your body. And it will still look feminine and pretty and wont take away from the skript too much.

you could do a negative shading, have all the shading on the outside like the oriental clouds that way you can blend them into other tattoos later perhaps, and leave the letters your bank skintone
