i'm curious to see what jewellery you ladies prefer for your christina piercing. i'm going to be purchasing some needles soon, and with needles, piercings naturally come. i've been considering a christina piercing for a few years now, but it has been further back in my mind because it is technically a bit of a surface piercing, and surface piercings obviously often face the issues with rejection. so, getting back to the point, in my mind, i think that a custom bent surface bar would work. for myself, i've been thinking a bar this shape \___ . but i've often seen curved barbells. for myself, i don't think a curve would be good, unless it was a much longer length, but i've seen them quite often, so i'm here to find out what you all prefer or would recommend. i've done the majority of my piercings and obviously have a pretty good idea of my own anatomy and what would work, but i'm not into the whole trial and error thing with something that is basically a surface piercing, so i would love to hear some input.

I would think that a custom bent surface bar to suit your anatomy would work best since a christina is a surface piercing. Good luck!

I've heard off-the-shelf 90 degree angled surface barbells r best. I'm having a Christina done shortly using 14g bar, about 2 cm long.
As this is an old topic you might not see this reply but if you do, let me know how urs went! |

i already have pierced it and removed it since this post. i pierced mine 1-1/4"(31.9mm) deep with a custom bent surface bar that resembled this shape: __/
unfortunately, being somewhat a surface piercing and having the top bead constantly aggravated by clothing didn't let it work out, so i had to remove it. |

So depth of the piercing is important. ha I must sound like such a noob :-)
The rise on the surface bar I thought would be standard across all surfacebars? |

nope. you can purchase and customize bars with different "rises" as you call it, same with lengths of the actual bar.

Just got mine done yesterday. I dance on the weekends, so I went with PTFE for the flexibility. I think a lot of it depends on each woman's anatomy. What works good for one may not be right for another.

unfortunately i tried and gave up the christina piercing almost a year ago because it didn't work with me. i might try other jewellery choices in the future, or even microdermal work. i've got other things in mind right now.
