Hi
I am looking for a way to remove my fingernails entirely. But i don't know how i can do it. I have tried to pull them years ago but it was very painfull. So i stopped after one nail. Is there a chemical or any other way to remove the fingernails? Thanks for your advices. Pit |

Look on bme http://www.bmezine.com/ they have several articles on fingernail removal buy soaking your fingers vinegar . I would say any way you do it their will be a lot of pain involved so good luck to you .

i have looked at bmezine.com but you may get valuable infos when you pay for membership. Using the search i did not find any article regarding fingernail removal. Do you know the exact procedure using vinegar? Thanks Pit |

So i did a minor amount of searching for you and did'nt come up with too much but alas I have read that there are websites out there that cater to people who chew thier nails to the point that they have none. Also as far as removing them I think it would be a matter of just cutting or pulling them out (not suggesting you do this just what I've seen and read) as far as this being permanent they will grow back sometimes it only takes 6 months but it could take a year or more, now if you don't want them to grow back you have to kill the nail-bed I have read of doctors injecting something but what it is I don't know, although the last nail removal posted on bme was of toenails and the guy who was doing it took a soldering iron and burnt his nailbed completely off. I guess just keep looking around on the net and you will eventually find something to send you on your way to not having nails anymore. If you go through with you should take some pics and post them as I would love to see them

killing the nail bed is the only permanent way to stop your nails re-growing for sure, like hair follicles (sp?) it just keeps producing the nail till it or you is dead.
medical type people are the way to go on this one i think, ask your doc/nurse what would they do if you accidently ripped your nail off or badly trapped it in a door, they will explain what they can/cant do. im always wary of explaining my mod's and planned mods to most of the medical community as they are in general, very closed minded. but good luck with your search and keep us informed |

i used to rip my toe-nails out (it was more of an addictive nervous thing like nail-biting) i only did it to the littlest and second from last toes on my feet and it bled loads but they took a long time to grow back. i don't know how you would go about stopping them from coming back altogether and i can bet ripping them out over and over would prove too painful. maybe you could get part of your fingers removed to stop it coming back. i think it's an interesting idea, but one question, how would you pick your nose? hehe, my girlfriend had bitten her nails so badly that the most they grow is about 2-3mm long. she barely has any nails left.
