Yes, I've read much about them.
They're one of those piercings where you think "AMAZING."
But when it comes to the actual risks of getting it, you must rethink over and over again before you actually decide right on if you're willing to take the risk or not.

It's very dangerous, the piercing is deep and may never fully heal.
I am infinitely glad my old piercer "chickened out" on doing them for me.
I strongly urge you to consider microdermals to get that look. Much safer, will heal faster. This has the potential to kill you.
If you can't change your mind, look on BME or somewhere to someone with a lot of experience in this, and travel to get them done. The extra money is worth it.

Thanks for the added advice, I might very well do this. But if all else fails, Microdermals will be my second go-to option =]

I was going to suggest microdermals too, a friend has microdermals which look like subclavicals- they look really pretty.

I like how the ends look on the PTFE bar used for the sub-clavs, the little metal balls is all, I'm sure I can find a Microdermal "end" thats similar.

I know what you mean... you can get the 'look' with micros but you don't get the added feeling of knowing they're actually 'real'... I also love the fact that the bars stick out from the skin.... oh such a pretty piercing...

You can get microdermal ends that are balls though if it's just the ball look you're after

I like the bar sticking out of the skin, thats the part I REALLY adore about the piercing, but the ball'd ends look really, idk how to describe it, it's just a great finish rather than the usual disk used when you first get a micro. If you know what I mean.

But the barr, ohhhhh the bar.
How I adore this piercing. A TON.

I completely understand. I adore how they look, but it's just too risky for me. You're obviously doing a lot of research though and I'm sure you'd take all the necessary precautions to make sure it doesn't do serious damage, so good luck! :)

lol, they are amazing overall!  Finicky and horribly time consuming, but there is nothing else truly like them.. (well, closest comparable would be Achilles or mandible--in depth, but well, neither are quite as stunning now, really, lol)

I would never get this piercing.
Though it does look amazing I think the risks far outweigh the good.
To each her/his own though I guess.
Good luck if you do decide to get them!
