You are right Alec, in all the information i gathered about piercings in general, you should not use Bactine. I am doing almost excatly what you suggested with the sea salt soaks, and i swear it is already healed(just got a vch on the 13th.Ohhhhh and i have read that antimicrobial germicidal soap is the best to use to clean your piercing like provon or satin. I am using satin, all is going well. Sure hope this helps freckled20. And by the way, it is great having a place to go for help and info, Again thank you b-mod folks for everything! |

Glad to help! Actually I believe Bactine says right on the label not to use it in deep or puncture wounds, and it's manufacturer recommends against using it in healing piercings. BZK=bad. Satin is great, although you want to be careful not to get much soap into the wound (certainly don't apply soap directly to the piercing) while it is still healing, and try to keep water flowing over it indirectly when you are washing. Lastly, make sure you don't leave any soap inside your piercing!

Antimicrobial/antibacterial soap in the genitals is not a good idea.. you could end up with a yeast infection...
Salt water SOAKS are good. |
