I am trying to stretch out my ears and i came across an article about Keloids.
It says people with dark skin are more prone to get them and I am 1/3 hispanic.
I don't know of anyone in my family who has them, but I was wondering how do I know if I will get them. Some people says that they are rare to get but others says they are more common.
I want to be able to have more piercings and branding in the future too which is also why I am concerned.
I have also had my ears pierced for several years before I even decided on trying to stretch them if that helps.
Any helpful comments would be appreciated.

The problem is,you really don't know if your going to get them until you do.
If you already have piercings and have had no problems then you'll probably be fine.Just try to make sure you go to someone who knows what they're doing and you follow proper aftercare,as most problems such as this are usually caused by improper angle or jewelry or improper aftercare.
Now if you're wanting branding or any scarification work, keloids are your friend.

Keloids are caused by a build-up of melanin. Since the amount of melanin in your skin tissue determines the darkness/lightness of your skin, your risk of developing them goes up if you have darker skin. Keloids are rare. Most people who say they are common confuse them with hypertrophic scarring, which is very common with piercings on people of all skin tones. Keloids are impossible to predict, but they do seem to be more common with piercings on the ears. If you are careful and seek a qualifies professional for your piercings, you should not have problems. With your ear stretching, make sure you take your time. Keloids are generally caused by some form of trauma to the skin, so rushing stretches or doing it improperly will increase your risk. thanks. I have pretty fair skin but their is a noticeable olive tint to it. Everything seems to be good as of now. I am at a 12g so I guess I will just see how things go from there. Keeping my fingers crossed that my ears will be pretty and unharmed.
