I am extremely religious about cleaning my nostril piercing every day-salt soaks morning and evening.  Yet this morning, I was so tired, I had a blinding migraine, and I just pretty much slept all day.  I just made sure now to soak it like I do normally.

I'm guessing that the occassional lapse is NOT a big emergency.  (But, as I've said before, I tend to be somewhat paranoid)

I try to clean my septum daily, but I'll go a few days without. It does no harm, just causes sticky build-up

You'll be fine.  Quite a few manage to heal piercings just fine without bothering with any kind of cleaning at all.  One lapse won't cause problems.

Hehehe I hate to admit it but I'm one of these people I only use plain water in the shower to clean the crusties off my piercings and not an infection yet. Though my Navel is being a fucking bitch right now, but that's because the jewelery is too long for it cause somehow the other night I managed to loose my 10g 1/2 inch barbell" target="_top">curved barbell and have to use a 10g 5/8 inch barbell" target="_top">curved barbell. Way too long for it and it's just big and stupid lol. Waiting for a new 1/2 inch barbell to come in the mail. But yeah you'll be fine if you miss only one cleaning.

I just keep one of the foam pumps filled with dial soap(to make it foam easy water it down) That way everytime I shower I just pump some into hands and wash. Works great and its easy. As for my lobes I tend to wear organic plugs a lot wood, bone, and horn let your ears breath alittle better so not as much dead skin smelling up the place. Also wood is great it absorbs the oils and skin making less cheese on them, older they get the darker the wood becomes also.
