For the last couple of weeks, my lip piercings are a little tender when I wake up in the mornings. The side ones are sore on the inside of my mouth and the middle one on the outside..they do not look angry at all, and they've all been healed a very long time!! They are fine by the middle of the day!!

Is it just that maybe I've been sleeping slap bang on my face? Dunce

Yeah :P I wake up with a with a swollen tongue most mornings (no explanation but it disappears soon enough) and my cartilage piercings are most ouchy in the morning :P

people do weird stuff to them self's when they sleep like grind there teeth chew on there gum's stuff like that. you cloud be causing some kinda iteration to your piercings when you sleep. that might be why the are sore when you wake up.

True. I used to dig into my skin with my nails and wake up all scratched!
My piercings all feel a little odd of a morning. I think they start to close up a bit more since they're not being moved around so much. My tongue bar does it especially and I've had it three years now so it's well healed and I can leave it out atleast six hours before it starts to try and close up on me.

you could be playing with them in your sleep, or just lying on them!
I used to have a problem with clenching my teeth together in my sleep. I was plagued by dreams where my teeth won't unclench and eventually they all break and buckle. It was really horrible!

i tend to bury my face into my pillow some nights and it causes my labret to dig into the inside of my lip. when it does it's a little swollen the following day. if i sleep with my mouth open my tongue dries out and my tongue will be sore when i wake up

yeah sometimes my frowney hurts when i sleep cuz the beads get pushed into my lip? and my cartilage too. it always goes away and its never been an actual problem. I changed the jewellery and it helped a little but not completely(straight to barbell" target="_top">curved barbell in frowney so it had more movement)

my lip always hurts when i first get up or if i dont play with it at all that day. i find if i just make it turn and slobber it up its all good. also i now it may sound weird but you may have a black head or two that are right around the hole that may be making it titter then normal. that will go away so just look to see and if so dont worrie and if not i would be to scard unless you see a big chande like red; and pussy
