So everytime i try to go from my 6's to 4's, my right ear always swells and has some sort of puss coming out of it. my friend, whose at 5/8' said i should use hydrogen peroxide because it keeps it clean and from getting infected. it apparently worked for her, but i always thought it was to harsh to use when stretching.
help? is it ok to use? if not, whats the best thing to clean my ears with to get the infection to go away? i've had to re stretch my ears several times because of the swelling and the pain of the one ear. its extremellyyyyyy
time consuming.
any advice is appreciated.

Hydrogen peroxide is waaay too harsh. sea salt solution soaks are your best bet (use the search feature on the forums for TONS of info about this). Take it easy and you'll have happy healthy ears.

I hear that hydrogen peroxide is bad for piercings. I think it promotes scarring by depriving cells of water and some other nutrients. I would go with sea salt.

Yeah hydrogen peroxide is bad it will dry out your skin around where you pierced. If you try using a jojoba oil(can get a GNC) and rub you lobes with it for a few days b 4 you try and stretch. Then if you are stretching to where the skin is thin causing bleeding or pussing I would use a sea salt soak. It is mild enough but clean very well. Also make sure you are waiting enough time between stretching 6g to 4g is a fairly simple stretch but if you rush and dont allow for healing you lobes will be to thin and cause it to split or get irritated easy.

sea salt and antimicrobial soap.
Soaks twice daily. Wash thrice daily.

You sure its pussing and not excreting lymph? A lot of people mistake lymph for puss and think they have an infection. But anyway yeah try sea salt soaks. Also if you're tapering you may want to start taping 6g is usually where you'd start taping. Tape is a slower nicer way to stretch your ears just a layer or two every wrapped around your plug every few days and you'll be at the size you want in no time. Oh yeah hydrogen peroxcide on any piercing is a bad bad idea. If you have anymore questions try out this faq:
