I lived in Tahiti from 1981 up to 1989, my parents and brother still live there, and this guy is so openly prejudicial, racist and has so little knowledge about the tattoo revival that's occuring right now in french polynesia that it hurts.

Don't let him get away with it? What are we meant to do, tell him his views are wrong and he's a bit of a twunt?

People such as this guy are paid money by the sites for their stories, probably not much but the supplement it with job in other media too, I presume. Now these websites aren't stupid, they don't just give away money to anybody that writes an article, they give money to people who can draw people to the site with their articles and they especially like it when new people visit for a read. After all, the adverts you see when you visit are what generates the site it's money, the more page views, the better the site looks and the more money it makes.

Everytime you get someone to have a read and leave a comment the better he looks and the more likely he is to run his mouth off again.

Besides, there are plenty of these articles every week, you can't stop it and I would love to hear your suggestion on how we can 'make him pay'.

I honestly don't understand people getting so upset by guys like this, every community/race/religion/person gets stick from time to time, leave him to his misguided opinions and move on with your life.

PS. I'm sorry if I sound a tad enraged but there are so many people getting their panties in a bunch over things like this right now and it's only making it worse.

After looking at most of the comments already submitted, I can only come to the conclusion that you, as well as many of your readers, have such warped and stunted opinions that you must all have been reared by close-minded nuns.

What better way to showcase a beautiful piece of art than to wear it on your body?? Or to accentuate your own best features with piercings? I see modification (yes, modification, not mutilation!) as a wonderful way to express yourself, and to share beautiful art with others.

Those who do not like body modification are free to their own opinion to a certain point, but when you belittle people and their right to expression to the point of labelling them as mutilated, your opinion holds no ground with me. 

Freedom of speech is one thing. Calling tahitians idiots is another one, and this guy is obviously as much a racist as he's a judgmental idiot. Futhermore, I hate it when people talk about things they don't have the slightest idea about.

dont take life to seriously becuase life will never take you seriously, honestly there will be people like this untill the end of time dont get worked up about it, instead go do something you like and forget about it, cant let it get to ya
