agreed.

what kind of presentation is it? if it's just one infront of members of your class, and just part of your uni work, then you shouldn't have to hide them.

if it's a compulsory presentation, then it shouldn't matter. if it's a voluntary presentation where the uni may benefit, and it's a tutor who's suggested it, then i think you should somewhat respect their wishes. or don't do the presentation.

but i don't know the situation...
well i might have somethin' to say about that, space man!

Unfortunatly life sucks, it's not fair but it is realistic. unfortunatly things like interviews and presentations people want us to look normal.

Personally I refuse to take mine out, for any reason. If someone won't hire me because of my mods, so be it. If someone thinks I'm "unprofessional" because of them, so be it. And most of all, if someone just doesn't like them and wants me to take them out when they're around, fuck em. Everyone tells me to take them out when I go see my grandma, hell, my grandma's more accepting of them than 90% of the rest of my family. She's never made a single comment.
I am who I am, and I refuse to change, or effect the appearance of change, for anyone other than myself, for my own reasons, or else I'm no longer true to myself, and as such, am becoming someone else.

Wow that really sucks! There is no way I'd take out any of my piercings for a presentation.  I actually got my corset done for a presentation in school!

friend of mine works for a big company that does maintenance on planes, small to big. the poor guy kinda gets blammed for stuff all the time, he doesnt get in trouble as its onli injest, but cos hes got few face mods and visable tattoos he gets singled out. regardless its unacceptable.

if body modding is ur way of life, somthing you choose to do then you should be shown respect.
look at people who get there lips stretched in africa or the maoris who get huge face tattoos, they are treated the same as someone without a mod.

i agree if somthing is completely offensive, that it be covered up etc but geez its the 21st century

ok ok rant over, hope i dint just chat on about shit

no, it is not fair.

but it is realistic. I mean, maybe not for THIS particular thing you have to do - but there will be times most likely in your life that you will either be asked to remove or hide them - or risk your job or somthing. Presentation is everything. Unfortunaltly, many places do not agree that a modded person APPEARS to be a professional one. And, again, unfortunatly - first impressions usually last.
