For a presentation we have to do at university it has been suggested to me that I take out/hide my mods to make myself "more presentable" yet another girl in my group who has a monroe and more ear piercings than me hasn't had anything said to her?

I already have done.

I just spent my morning arguing with the person that said it to me.

They can get stuffed if they think it's happening.

In todays modern society I think more and more people are getting body mod's. I think they should be left as they are because that is you and by taking them out that is not you.

However if it was a job interview I think I would take out my dbl eyebrows (for the duration of the interview) but as for my ear stretch no way(how would I hide a hole?).
Until employers start accepting mods as the norm its pretty shitty for us.

I don't think it's fair that they'd ask you to take out your mods, especially if others have them, and if the presentation isn't for, like, a company or something. And especially if it were another student who asked you, not a professor or someone legitimate.

However, sometimes I feel the manner in which we receive the criticism leaves something to be desired. I hear a lot of stories about when people are asked to remove their mods they fly off the handle. I'm sure if we're more calm and explanatory rather than viscous and whiny we'd be better received.

Yeah it isnt fair, but it isnt descrimination as we choose to modify ourselves. Taco Bell wont hire me because I have ink on my arms, big loss eh?
