Damn, got my first tattoo when I was 15, but I had gone with my mother and she got her first tattoo as well, if you raised a good child, they should know when is the right time for a tattoo, I do believe that 13 is a tad young though.

When I were 10 y/o the uncle of a friend of mine draw with a black pen a ship on my friend's arm. I envy him! I loved tattoos all my life, actually I'm a tattoo artist and I do not tattoo minor.
Maybe you're 12 years old and you are 100% shure of what you want for life and you could be an 30 y/o asshole, that's not a matter of age. We have laws and rules and we just have to obey. Any stupid thing I do could fuck up the job of others artists.

I'm sure it's been said before, but when I was 13, had I been stupid enough to get fake ID, or go to a place with a reputation for not needing ID, and get a tattoo, I'm sure I'd have a big Slipknot 'S' on me, or KoRn, or whatever else I was into at the time.
I'm 18, have been since may, and I'm still waiting, designing, redesigning. The age restrictions are there for so many reasons. I think if you really want something, it is worth the [excruciatingly frustrating] wait. I have such a point of contention with tattoo artists and piercers who do not check I.D. In a world where body modification is still on the long path of being accepted and not associated with the devil/sin/juvenile behaviour/crime, etc etc, these 'professionals' who step over the line and ignore the law get not only the artists, but the customers tarred with the same brush. It's disgusting; sure, most of us have done it and gotten a piercing before we were supposed to, but I just feel disgusted at some of the bad practices I hear about on here. Then again, every path in life has its own set of twats to make everyone look fucking backwards =P Just look at scientologists... *giggles* xxx |

Only one person had the same question as me..
What the fuck was a 13 year old doing hanging out with a 33 year old and his wife? Helloooooo... Red flags on that one... I know and understand that parents can't keep an eye on their kid at all times, but looking at the 13 year olds today, makes me sick. I may only be 17, but at 13, I was still grossed out by the thought of sex, and so was everyone else that I was around. What the hell happened to make sex so okay at such a young age? Why are all these PRE-TEENS so excited to be 'older'? Sure, I've wished I was older for most of my life, but I never actually bothered to make everyone think I was older. It's so gross to look at the friends my sister has (my sister just turned 15) and see how slutty they are. I may be 17, and I've been dying to get a tattoo since I was a child, but I really respect the law that you have to be 18. You can't even get a tattoo with parental consent here in Oregon, but that makes sense too. Forcing kids to wait until their 18, is a great idea. Then they are forced to think about the tattoo they want, for years. I've had the same tattoo idea in my mind for 4 years, and any other tattoos I've thought I wanted since I was young, I do not want anymore. There's only one that's stuck with me, and that's the one I've deemed worthy of getting. I strongly believe that everyone should think about the tattoo they want for at least a year. It's something that will be stuck on you forever, and if you get it removed there's still the scar (and the bill) to remind you of how much you thought you'd love that tattoo, and then you ended up hating it. I guess those are just my opinions though. I still would love to know what the 13 year old was doing chillin' with a 33 year old.. |

It doesn't say whether or not the 33 yr old was the parent of one of the girl's friends or not. When I'm 33, my son will be 14.

I got my first tattoo when I was 16.
It looks like shit, the design is shitty and immature, and when someone asks "what's that?" I quickly turn my ankle the other way. At the time, I thought I was pretty bad ass. Now I realize I was just an ass. I may still be stupid and immature at the age of 29, but at least I am capable of making better decisions as to what I am going to have permanently inked on my body. At the risk of sounding crotchety, I have to agree with everyone in this thread who says a 13 year has no business getting inked. If it was a piercing, I wouldn't care.
