I gotta say i fully agree with the charges, the fact that someone would be stupid enough to tatto a 13 and the other person would sit and watch without the thought of "Hmmm.... Maybe this isn't such a great idea." passing through either minds, is beyond me.
But you also have to ask yourself where the hell the parents... what is a 13 yr old doing hanging out with a 33 yr old in the first place.... Maybe they tidn't know ~ Bullshit, they're parents it's their job to know and i'm sorry but no 13 yr old really looks like an adult to the point where if they were to ask for a tat there wouldn't be a question of age.

hey its wrong for it to happen.. The onus is on all of them, duty of care should of made the tattooist not do it.. Aswell as the parents having say and control of there little "shit" At the moment, we've got all the problem here with back yard piercer's, making my life harder when things are fucked up by them. We have age restrictions and we take all onus onto ourselfs as the Artist... Grr fucking idoits

that is crazy
when I was in highschool, a friend of mine who was 16 at the time got tattood. If he had it do over again Im sure he would have either gotten a different design or not got it at all. He got a purple heart with flowers and ribbons around it. That tattoo was very poorly done and he has always came off as someone who tries to ooze with masculinity so in the end it made him look a little gay. I guesa my point is that you should not get tattood (especially as a minor) because what may seem cool to you then will probably make you think twice when you get older.

That body may belong to the child, but a child doesn't have the understanding or discretion to make a decision like that. If that same said 13 yr old were to strip naked, lay spread-eagle in front of you and tell you to screw the hell out of her, I doubt you'd say, "sure, why not?"

tattooing a minor is just plain wrong-who knows what the tattooist must have been thinking?
then theres the 13yr old girl...sure i knew i wanted tatts from a very young age but then i waited and then waited alittle more untill i was 19 and i'm so thankful i did.
i actually had a couple of friends from school (they were about 15 at the time)who forged notes from their parents giving permission for them to get tattooed! it worked-the crazy tattooist did it! only these girls were more careful with keepin their tatts covered so they never got "found out"

well, im 16, and i have 2 tats, i just recently got them this year. 12 and 13 year olds have changed alot since i was that age, i know it hasnt been long since i was. but it seems to me that all the younger kids are beging to look and act older than they really are. and yeah, a professional tattooing a 13 year old is wrong, im not saying that it isnt. but if the girl wanted to get one, and got it, then its on her too. the couple should have thought twice about it, and yeah the girl shouldnt have gotten one but in reality, everyones been young once, and we all do stupid shit, i have to deffentally admit if i had gotten a tattoo when i was 13, i probably would deffentally have regreted it by now. or i maybe would not, nobody can really tell. but, for me anyways, i just go with the flow most of the time, i do things right away, usally without thinking them through, but when it comes to tattoos i dont really care what i get. its stuck with me for forever, yeah, and i for sure do have a different outlook on certain things than most other people, we live in the now, not in the then, so we should just live it, ya know..but anyways, the couple deserve what they get cause they should have thought about what they were doing, and also the parents should have kept a better tab on their kid..i dont disagree, or aprove with someone tattooing a minor but there has to be certain guidlines to doing something like that, and in this case it seems like some lines were crossed. |

Let me address your post in the three parts I've seperated...Take your first statement "everyone's been young once and we all do stupid shit" and add it to your second statement "I do things right away, usually without thinkint them through, but when it comes to tattoos I don't care what I get."
Those two statements embody all of the reasons why someone under the age of 18 SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO MAKE IMPORTANT DECISIONS THAT WILL AFFECT THEM FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES.
Your third statement "I, for sure, do have a different outlook on certain things than most other people. We live in the now, not the then, so we should just live it, ya know." -- You may think these are profound words, but they are, in fact, the "profound" words of every 16 year old who has ever walked the face of this planet that we call "Earth."
Take this statement to heart, because you will not fully understand it until you've become an adult and have faced the consequences of the impulsive actions of your teen years and early adult years. "If I had half of the answers to life that I thought I had at 16 or 18, I wouldn't have made a fraction of the mistakes I did in those years."

Jennifer, you are just taking it to the extremes and way over analyzing it. You have to put things in context. Do you honestly think that I, being involved in body art industry, would have a child that would be ignorant about the pros and cons of tattoos? That's like saying Barry Bonds' kid doesn't know how to play baseball. And which wise guy determined that at the magical age of 18, everything becomes clear and all the decisions are right? The maturity level, or the lack there of, is totally dependant on the upbringing of an individual.
