Why would anyone willingly appear on film only to have anything said or done be twisted negatively for the purpose of selling television ratings for a horribly presented show and a corrupt channel. If I'm not mistaken, TLC had the show Tattoo School? All of this of course being said if you are from My Strange Addiction. The fact that you didn't say you weren't says you are.

I am not usually cynical, but having some knowledge of how this kind of programme works I think my opinion on this matter may be somewhat accurate.

We really want to use this opportunity to bring attention to the spiritual connection people get from suspending.
By "spiritual connection" I assume you mean you plan imply suspending is a cult, maybe an evil cult.

For many, suspension makes them feel better, we simply want to reveal these alternative approaches to the rest of society.
There have been several documentaries and art films that have done this, they are not sensationalist enough to get viewers. The reality of an introspective spiritual event is not what people will watch and it is not what will make you money. For you to make any profit from this venture you will have to make a movie to show suspending as freakish, kinky, or as a cult. I do not believe you are doing this project as a non-profit making act of altruism to promote an alternate lifestyle.

The subject ultimately has the final say in the direction of the show and how suspension is represented.
That is not how TV works, that is how a self-shot art documentary works (the kind that only airs in specialist art galleries or community media groups). Very rarely will A-list celebrities have final say in a production, let alone a member of the public with a specialist interest.

Again, I completely understand many people hesitance towards the media.
Because many people know, or at least suspect, the reality of the situation.
