You can find mm to gauge conversion charts if you search in google.
Most shops online will list both sizes. I have definitely found plugs in weird in between sizes on ebay and painfulpleasures.com A lot of people will tell you painfulpleasures sell bad quality stuff but I never had any bad reactions to the jewelery I bought. If you can't get your plug back in with the tape on, maybe you've got too much on there. I never found that tape worked for me, it just slides off the other side when I try to put my plug in. If I couldn't size up then I would downsize for a few weeks then try again. If my ear was at 18MM I would go back to 16MM then to 18MM for a few weeks, and try a plug that was 18MM with a 19MM flare, mostly if I oiled my lobe enough the flare would just pop right in. Then I would go for a straight 19MM plug for a month or so. Then 19MM with a 20MM flare and so on. But it doesn't always work. Sometimes my ears were stubborn and I would have to downsize again. There isn't any sure fire way to make your body do something so you just have to be patient, research and try new things. |

One layer at a time right...? Like one complete wrap. If the 2g are not trying to go back in then your lobes aren't comfortable to the size yet and you shouldn't go up hun.
Tapered crescents. The weight would be evenly distributed. Edited by wetizm - June/25/2013 at 7:54pm |

One layer at a time is a definite. I gather you are using bondage tape (as its thicker than Teflon tape). Have you tried Teflon (or plumbers) tape? You should be able to get it from pretty much any hardware store. Its a lot thinner and maybe easier to use than bondage tape (well, in my experience) but I prefer bondage tape as it is more durable than Teflon.
And, as others have said, if you can't get your taped tunnels in without forcing them, your ears are just not ready. Leave them alone at their existing size for longer. The only other suggestion I have is, if they are at a suitable size and the tape is just grabbing, use some lube on them before you insert them. Only you will be able to tell if this is the case though. Good luck |

Thanks guys! so I was using one wrap of the Teflon tape from hardware stores my dad uses it for everything so we had a bunch of unopened. Um I think maybe they aren't really ready. When I take out my tunnels they are really moist inside is that normal?

depends on what your wearing. im assuming its some kind of metal or glass and the moisture could be "ear cheese" or that its still healing. id guess still healing due to previous posts

I found Teflon tape 'stickier' than bondage tape so harder to get tunnels in once wrapped in it. One of the reasons I prefer bondage tape. One layer shouldn't be really difficult to get in though, so yeah sounds like your ears aren't ready. Perhaps give them more time or, as I said earlier, get bondage tape and lube and try that. again, only one layer at a time.
with the moisture, as Braids said, it's possibly cheese, if you are using tunnels made from non-porous materials. Just keep them clean, massages with oil. Even some time naked will help your lobes out. Don't be scare to downsize either. That will help get your lobes healthy too! |
