I will update this when I have more time, but right now I'm fried from just trying to get this site back on it's knees. So I'm hoping that people that understand what's going on will append to this thread...

In a nutshell, the US just ammended a law a couple days ago that states a photo ID and model release form are required for all mature content. If you even have 1 photo without either of these, it's 5-10 years in prison.

At first, I felt that this was all "art" and art is exempt. But yesterday, BME was forced to do a major relocation of it's entire IAM world to Canada due to this. If they went after them, I know I'm not far down the road (which is total BS).

So until I get more situated, I have disabled the profile area, disabled profile photo's as avatars, and disabled the profiles all together. I have also filtered out any nudity. It's not deleted, and you don't loose the mod on record, but the photo just won't show up.

Now, no one forced me to do this (directly), but I felt that id BME got hit, it's only a matter of time for me. I really don't know what's going to happen...

the vast majority of child pornography comes from overseas servers, and therefor out of the jurisdiction of the USA anyway....this is nothing but a back door attack on civil liberties by an oppressive republican agenda...these laws will change NOTHING about what content is available on the INTERNET, other than where it originates from. This legislation is as ludicrous as the laws supporting the war on drugs.....something else to regulate, throw money at, and watch fail......With war on a dozen fronts, with our sons and daughters dying, with the economy plummeting, with the number of people living in poverty on the rise....this, this horseshit is what our leaders are dealing with....so afraid somebody might see a dick or a pussy....that they forget that everyone has one between their own legs......
