Alright, first of all I'd like to apologize for my first post being a most likely stupid question but I'm kind of worried about my septum, it was pierced a week ago and it's pierced straight through the fat part at the bottom of my nose, hopefully that makes sense. But the left side seems to be migrating down and now looks about half a cm lower than the right side. Was it pierced wrong or is it just swollen oddly and healing?

Could you upload a picture? That would make things easier for us to see what the deal is and hopefully help you with your worries. =]

Are you sure it was straight from the start?

Usually a septum is pierced above the bottom "fat" part, I have yet to see one pierced like this.

That's what I was thinking, can I just keep it or will it ultimately reject or something? And I'm not sure, i think it was a little crooked but not this bad. The piercer assured me that it was just the swelling :/

It really looks like a tiny piece of jewelry for your nose. Do you have a pic of your face so one can compare it?

I would remove it, get it pierced higher up.

It's migrating because of the jewelry being too small. It's moving down so your body can accommodate the jewelry. If the placement had been different, you may have been able to get away with this smaller size! But honestly, sounds like you should go see a different piercer. Septum piercings don't generally swell so if he told you that it was swollen and that's why the jewelry feels tight, then he didn't do the piercing right. You can have it changed to a larger diameter and see what the over-all damage is once it's healed, or you can just have it removed, and pierced again properly which would be my recommendation. :)

Thanks very much:) I'm gonna have it re-pierced with a bigger ring. I know everyone's body is different but about how long should I wait after taking it about before I have it pierced again?

What Cale said.

In my opinion your placement was way off. Septums should be pierced more to the front of your nose. Circular barbells should be tuckable and your jewelry ain't tucking no where. I only piercer further back like that on request, otherwise every septum has a sweet spot and yours isn't in it.

Better placement, more knowledgeable piercer, and wider diameter jewelry, good luck.

I would wait a few weeks before having it repierced!
