Silicone is not good for stretching!

You really want to stick with non-porous materials like steel and titanium. Otherwise you risk damaging your piercings.

I have used silicone for stretching, and I think its great. That1Chick is right about the material being porous, but this is not a problem as long as you take the plugs out more than once a day, and clean them good :)

If you're oiling them everyday this should be sufficient to stop your ears from 'growing onto' the plugs.

Stretching was actually really comfortable for me with the silicone plugs because I didn't have to 'pop' the plugs in, so there was no single point where my lobe felt the pressure. I would definitely recommend it for someone such as yourself who is willing to set aside a few minutes everyday to take the plugs out and get oiled up.
