Hi all
On Saturday 4th February 2012 I co-ordinated a team of us to successfully suspend Ms Metal Rat from 220x 22g needles and embroidery cotton. There are pictures available to view on my profile and also on the profile of Ms Metal Rat. If anyone is interested in more information, we are very happy to skills-share. It was an amazing thing to do! We (all eight of us!) are still buzzing from it! cheers Whippet |

That is IMMENSE!
Definitely something I'd consider trying in the future! Also, I concur with Mr JClaude. Edited by hellodave - February/06/2012 at 1:26pm |

Instead of bitching about how something isn't showcased... you COULD vote to showcase it yourself, and post it in the showcase suggestions thread. That IS what it's there for...
But... back to the original topic... THAT IS BAD FUCKING ASS. |

Well... since you still haven't posted in that thread, it seemed like advice you could use. Of course, you could just complain about it, since that is usually effective. http://www.bodymod.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=19397&PN=4 Here you go. I did half the work for you. So, anyway, folk.......... Its all good! It is showcased now! Thanks!
It was definitely a *Team Effort* - it took 7 of us, and full credit to Ms Metal Rat, herself, for the courage and strength to suspend! Wow, I love that woman! So... we worked from a concept by a guy in NZ called Dungeon-Monster who, to my knowledge, was the first to conduct this kind of suspension a few months ago. It was also achieved by a team in Tennessee USA about 2 weeks ago. I have been chatting with those people as the issues, as we see it, was that the rigging was too "static". We tied the strings directly to the suspension beam and this didn't leave much "give" in the tension - it was quite uncomfortable for Ms Metal Rat to move any part of her body once she was lifted. I am going up next time we do it! And we are going to explore with the idea of attaching the strings to D-shackles or carabiners and then attach *those* to the usual (dynamic rope) of the suspension rig. This will, hopefully, let the body settle in a more comfortable psosition and allow more movement in general..... Wish us luck! And if anyone wants to chat about technique, feel free to contact me via PM. cheers whippet
