I'm not a professional, not even close, but I like to tattoo and hope to make it my profession someday. I've done a few, not sure how many, less than 30. But I love tattooing and I feel really good about these ones. They aren't the best but they are pretty good for me. I just wanted to share my tattoo high. Every time I do a tattoo though it makes me want more.

Those tattoos were Christmas gifts. I also did the Hello Kitty you can see under Gir. Since I have pictures up now I would like to know what you all think of them (whats wrong with them or what you like about it), tear me a new one if that's what you think of it. I'm open to criticism. I personally fell pretty dam good about them even though I can see some flaws.

I know I need to get an apprenticeship but I have to wait till I move here in two months. Then I have to get settled there and find a shop. There's not much for that around here after the flood.

The only reason we say that is because, while your tattooing is not the worst Ive ever seen, there is way more that goes into tattooing than just turning on a machine and getting at it. Knowledge of Bloodbourne Pathogens, avoiding cross contamination, proper cleaning and sterilizing of equipment, not to mention that even the CLEANEST room in your house is still not an ideal environment for a safe tattoo procedure. These are all things that you learn during an apprenticeship.

One other thing, a LOT of tattoo artists will not consider giving an apprenticeship to someone who has been tattooing without proper knowledge. It shows a lack of respect to the profession. IMHO

I know I don't have full knowledge of how t tattoo, but I did do a bit of research, talked to professionals, and watched videos. I didn't even touch my tattoo machine for two months after I got it. So I do have some knowledge of how to set up, sterilizing a work place and equipment, proper after care, and disposal. The only problem I have had so far was my friend didn't tell me that they were allergic to latex until I was done with the tattoo.

I know I should have waited till I had full knowledge since there could be some very serious problems if not done right, but working 10-16 hours a day don't leave much time to become an apprentice. So I took it into my own hands to learn on my own. If I am not able not get an apprenticeship after I move, I'll have to continue on my own. I have tattooed only six people (4 family, 1 close friend, and the guy that was teaching me).
