So I recently got a new job which allows me to have 2 facial piercings (my old job only allowed a nose piercing, which I got as soon as I could). I have been dying to get another facial piercing, and I'm so excited that I have the chance now. Big%20Grin The problem is, I have a few that I've been dying to get for a while now, and I'm not sure which one I really want to get first. The 2 I've narrowed it down to are eyebrow or labret. Can anyone tell me which one they enjoy more, or maybe which one gave them more trouble? I know it's my decision in the end, I'm just looking for responses to help me choose between the two since I'm so torn. Thanks!

i've had my eyebrow pierced for over 5 years now with virtually no problems. (i'm not sure that's anywhere near the norm, though). it's one of my favorites of all of my piercings.

i have no oral piercings, nor do i plan on getting any, so i can't help you with the labret.

it's really down to what you think you want to get done first, i'm guessing, as i'm sure at some point in time you'll get the other?

As far as possible issues associated with those piercings: migration shouldn't occur for the eyebrow as long as it's not placed further out than where your prominent brow allows (most times clients want these much further out than they should be). The labret may tend to rub against your gums and cause a bit of recession there. Not everyone experiences these, but they are the most common. Past that, get whatever you feel would suit best.

If you have long hair - especially a fringe, you'll need to be careful if you get an eyebrow piercing. combing my hair  whilst i was in a rush is exactly how i ripped mine out by mistake.

The below is purely my experience, it can be different for everyone. I've had my labret pierced for about seven years. Never had any trouble with it, healed very well. I no longer wear jewellery in but that's because I got dahlias and didn't feel it complimented them. The hole remains open although you cannot see it. The only downside I found was teeth erosion: I used to bite the bar a lot.

Attempted to have my eyebrow pierced three times but each time it grew out within a matter of weeks. I still have a noticeable scar from this (scars from former piercings don't bother me a jot, but it's something to consider if scars do bother you).
Caustic blonde.

I think a labret would look adorable on you. :)

I've had my labret pierced in the center twice over, which most people typically call the "labret" (although labret refers to any part of the lip technically speaking ;) ) BUT I'm getting into semantics now and on a tangent lol as far as the "typical" 'labret' placement my biggest issues with it were gum erosion and then them getting caught on my gums....I abandoned it later, however for some people this isn't an issue. My biggest warning with lip area piercings is always the damage that can be caused to teeth and the gums, as gums do not regenerate.

I have "spider-bites" now and I'm happy with them, placed correctly with proper sized jewelry they don't bother my teeth or my gums.

Eyebrow piercings are usually complication free when placed correctly as stated above. I've had my eyebrow pierced for 11 years now. It was my first piercing...over the years I've been enlisted in the military, had security positions, and professional suit and tie positions in which jewelry is either not allowed or frowned upon. I've taken my eyebrow ring out for YEARS at a time, and with the use of a taper I've always been able to re-insert jewelry.

As always which piercing you chose ultimately comes down to personal taste and preference. Looking at your picture I think either piercing would look good with your anatomy.
SINcerely,

Juan

thanks guys! right now I'm kind of leaning towards the eyebrow simply because if my lip swells as badly as my tongue did, then I don't want to be starting a new job with a huge swollen lip greytongue but who knows, I might change my mind later!! I still have some time to decide Smile

you would look cut with both, but eyebrow is a pain in the butt.... if you get your eyebrow pierced just make sure you really keep a eye on it, if you see its starting to reject take it out to avoid scaring ...

As far as swelling goes, if you can take ibuprofen it's always good to help with swelling. If you're piercer is good they'll know not to make the forceps a little loose, if they're too tight you will have more swelling than normal, fyi.
SINcerely,

Juan
