I know this is a really dumb question, but I'm just looking for some opinions...
I'm in the process of getting a tattoo drawn up for me (a heart with Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, a little cliche I know :P). Originally I intended to have it done on my lower back, but whenever I tell people this, they try to talk me out of it, or tell me to avoid that area unless I want to have a "tramp stamp" the rest of my life. I don't really believe that whole "tramp stamp" nonsense, but of course now I'm having doubts just because I don't want to be given a hard time about it for the rest of my life. I can't be the only one who wants a tattoo in that spot besides "tramps." Should I go ahead and get it there anyways, or should I pick another spot? And any suggestions for an alternative spot? (I already have tattoos on my ankles, back of my neck, and my right shoulder blade). Thanks!

i pretty  much agree  with what Adam  said. My first  tattoo was a tramp stamp, and if someone mentions that, i just laugh it off and go 'i know! ' - just point out the cheesiness factor as  something awesome.

People can call it what they want but I've noticed there are 4 areas women tend to get tattooed. Their wrist, ribs, lower back, and ankle. I have no idea why women get those areas tattooed because I hated my wrist, ribs, and lower back. I agree with Skip and Ros. Get the tattoo where you want it. You shouldn't care what other people think, especially when it comes to something permanent like a tattoo. You may be having doubts now but if you get it somewhere else you may regret not getting it on your lower back later.
You might not share my views on politics, religion, or several other notable topics; if you ever attain my level of knowledge, you will, though.

we call them booty bumpers at my shop.  That is a sexy spot for any woman to get a tattoo seeing as it defines their natural lines. SO I SAY GO FOR IT!

I vote you get it in an area where you feel would best compliment the tattoo. If that's the lower back, yay! If not, yay too!

I also agree with what pierced_celt said. Get it, if you want it, but it's probably a reality that people with either think or say something about it.

On the ideas aspect fo' suggestions -
there's no other intent HERE IN THIS POST than with these ideas of placement & location of piece 1st posted-

By considering the surrounding heart that would envelope Jack and Sally, have you considered having it centered along the bust line or more particular to your physiology i.e. thickness of area over the sternum & center of chest?

Of course, on a breast or higher up may be physically more pleasing & viewable for low cut tops/gym wear, etc.

From my interest, I've always treasured anatomy and anatomical pieces and having the meeting of their two faces placed within an actual fist sized heart and the ventricles directed just so or perhaps a slightly bloodied cavity that's been reopened & retracted again?
(broken hearts are just meant for repeat offenders)
Surgically correct tattoos have always got me critically thinkin' too. Just some quick thoughts without wantin' a whole movie still to be mentioned or a scene from the graveyard,??? A heart-shaped moon in the instant background...CheersDrunk
