Mike, I agree with you about the Red Cross.  Here, it's even worse.  You "rent" a video (VHS I might add), return it after you watch it, pay $20, and give a list of names of each person who watched the video.  A week later your cards are in the mail.  There's no test, no oversight over who did or did not actually watch it, nothing.  We get cards through the red cross because the Health Department in another county we work requires training through the Red Cross.  But we don't bother to watch the video, hell, we don't even have a VHS player.  We get our training from the nursing school I graduated from.
