Also, It is important to know if a titanium teeth needs visiting the dentist periodically. I would prefer to have it and
forgot all the problems of the natural teeth and get rid of the dentist visits.
Actually, if you have implant treatment, it's arguably even more important for you to have regular dental examinations than if you keep your own teeth! Although implants are often said to be a permanent treatment, they're still dependent on the alveolar ridge (bone) that they're placed in. Periodontal disease or infection can lead to gingival recession and subsequent resorption of the alveolar bone...which means bye bye very expensive implants. And if your oral hygiene is lacking at present, then don't be suprised if dentists insist on seeing an improvement before undertaking implant work. Let's not forget it's a surgical procedure and if your intra-oral condition is poor then infection and other post-op complications are much more likely.

And again, like I've said to many people enquiring about extreme cosmetic dental treatment, finding a good dental
practitioner who will do the work for you will be hard - it's drummed into them from the moment they begin training that
they should always preserve healthy natural teeth where possible.
+1
Very true, some of the dentists I've worked with even shy away from doing established conventional cosmetic treatments like veneers or whitening, just because we get so brainwashed (in a good way) into going all-out to preserve natural teeth.

I don't know if this helps but I once knew of a woman who had metal (Chromium I believe) dentures for eating. She had such a strong 'bite' that she broke plastic ones repeatedly.

If you would consider dentures rather than implants this may provide a cheaper solution. If still available
These would be cobalt-chromium dentures. Standard dentures are made fully out of acrylic, but by casting the main base of the denture to cobalt-chromium it makes the denture stronger and lighter, and as you can use less material, it's also more comfortable for the patient to wear. Due to the added strength, they're recommended for patients with deep/heavy bites too. However they can't just be chrome. The gingivae and teeth are always still acrylic.

Source; I'm studying dentistry, currently funding training by working as a registered dental nurse (in a practice offering implant treatments) and as a registered dental technician (in a laboratory making dentures, crowns, etc). I don't know everything, by far, but I should be able to help out with any specific questions about this subject Pleased

Replacing my teeth with some righteous titanium ones has been a fantasy I've had for a while. Aside from infection, I wonder what other complications might arise from dental implants? And I wonder how it would effect daily living...

Thanks for You replies.

About the visits to the dentist, ok, I know that I can get rid of them, but at least It would be more difficult to have diseases and problems.

About metal dentures: They could be a easy way to ensure that I want this modification. Maybe wearing It some weeks before get the titanium teeth.

I will try to search more information about this, and post it here. And if finally I get the new teeth, I would send You photos, but It would take time, because It is not a little steep. Having a stronger teeth and a metallic smile would be great, but I must have the money and I must be sure before doing it.

You can find a "preview" if You search "teeth" in mod galleries. There are people that wears metallic fangs (maybe over the canine tooth). For me, I will use only the typical teeth of humans, without fangs.

My grandfather has had all his teeth replaced with implants. No problems to report, other than the procedure itself being damned uncomfortable.

Same with mine. He chipped one, but got it replaced rather easily.

Worth reiterating the point that titanium is expensive and very hard to machine.

I think you'd be lucky to get something custom done for $4k per tooth.

It would be expensive, but It only would be interesting in this way.

If you're willing to drop over $100k into a mod with no discernible benefit...

I would ask some dentist to know prices before drop the idea. Also, I am not planning this for the next week, It would take too many time.

Of course, this would have discernible benefits. My current teeth is a bit ugly.

Hmm. The flaw I see in this plan is that in order to trial your denture, you'll need your extractions done first. Say, then, that during or following your denture trial, you decide a mouth full of metal isn't for you, it's kinda a bit too late by then!

Just to throw another idea out - have you consider having this done as an implant-retained denture? Or even cheaper (though not as good long term prognosis) as a set of F/F dentures with intra-coronal retention?
