I noticed sampa Von cyborg has metal caps of some sort... my dudes sister is doing her final semester of becoming a dental technician. t's my boyfriends idea to have metal skulls inside implants he will have made- his teeth didn't grow out of his gum all the way, so they were pulled the rest of the way, but as a result the teeth do not have enamel at the top, and they've started to decay. |

Very nice teeth, It looks powerful and strong. I like it: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=48955115&albumID=720632&imageID=2926801 http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=48955115&albumID=720632&imageID=3515637#a=720632&i=3515637 http://bodymodifications.net/member/samppa_von_cyborg/66039/ http://bodymodifications.net/member/samppa_von_cyborg/66038/ I suppose that a teeth replacement would look like it and It would be much better than a denture or caps. [QUOTE=xjessiex] I noticed sampa Von cyborg has metal caps of some sort... QUOTE] Looks like crowns or veneers in the photos, which again would be a better/cheaper/much more realistic option than having teeth extracted and full set of implants.

This is an old topic but I hadn't seen anyone mention this. I have looked into this a few years ago but not with titanium - rather with steel crowns.
I had found that implants were insanely expensive but that in Eastern Europe (Romania specifically if I remember) there were dental hospital who perform this service as a package holiday deal for approx €300 per tooth. |

I'm sorry for bumping this old topic, but I have found two interesting pictures:
http://www.strangecosmos.com/content/item/6190.html http://myownhell.tumblr.com/post/14383093019/hitokiri-battosai-i-want-metal-teeth-samppa I want to have metallic teeth like them, It looks awesome, and their mouths are stronger than mine. Also, I have read that some dogs have titanium fangs, but they are only covers for damaged fangs, not a full replacement. It's very difficult to find information and most of it is about these dogs. |

Hello. I'm me again, some time ago I found more information about this topic. Just watch and listen them: https://www.instagram.com/p/BLUGbwOh7cu/ His name is Jean Luc Verna, he is French and he god most of his teeth replaced by solid titanium replicas, it's not a grill, crownes or caps, they are solid metal teeth replacements from the root. Not breakages, not rooting, just shiny and strong titanium teeth. Listen how they sound, much better than my teeth, they also looks better. The result is awesome, it's a bit expensive but the idea is great. I see it as a body improvement. Another example was Genesis Breyer P-Orridge (now dead ![]() https://www.instagram.com/p/B5L2CunBr92/ There are more examples, but most of them only a few teeth. Another idea related to this topic is that I have read that there are research for implants that works just like natural teeth ("ligaplants"), the idea is great: instead of placing the implant directly in the bone, they try to mimic the support of original teeth, this has some advantages, you have better pressure sensitivity. Just imagine the advantages of the original teeth, but without the problems of rooting discolouring or breakages. I am reviving this old thread because I think that it could be helpful for a lot of people. I don't know if I will be here 9 years later ![]() Of course, If I have the opportunity of having this body mod done on me, I would try to share the experience with you. I would choose titanium because it is strong and nice. The problem... you know: you need to be economically independent, because society most of times doesn't allow this. ![]() Best regards.

Another interesting idea related to this: root shaped implants. Instead of drilling the jawbone, the new tooth is made from a CT scan, then the original tooth is pulled and the new tooth inserted. This keeps the original tooth's root shape. https//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Root_analogue_dental_implant It fits better with my idea, because it would keep better the function of the teeth (I only want a material change, not a total modification). The implants would be made in solid titanium (solid implant without crown, a single piece from root to surface) and I believe that this could be doable and possible. The biggest problem is the social acceptance (some people will not accept solid metal teeth ![]() I am keeping this thread updated because it seems that some people find it interesting. I don't know if this is helpful for them, but at least they can have a starting point to find information. Maybe this is more related with transhumanism than body modification. If you are interested, you can leave a comment or ask something. Advice: avoid not removable grills, sometimes they hide dental problems and they are discovered too late. Also, I have read that if the covers doesn't have an space between teeth, they are more difficult to clean. I believe that solid metal teeth implants are better than having permanent metal caps or grills.
