ok so i have this friend who WAS stretching his ears. had to stop due to the fact he ripped his ear lobe off.
but can u snag your ear lobe when your sleeping and some how tear it off with out waking up or is he lieing. seeing as i have no clue how bad or little it would hurt. is it possible to sleep through tearing your own lobe off? doesn't make sense to me. sorry for the random question i am just worried for my ear lobe well being while i sleep now. |

hmmm....if his lobes were large enough and slept with his hands by his head maybe one of his fingers slipped through and the he rolled over or something and it tore...but I can't really imagine him sleeping through it.
that is really the only thing that I could think of... |

oh I sleep through tearing off body parts all the time, after a handful of xanax and a bottle of tequila that is.

yeah im thinking lies. but if he lied about it happening in his sleep i wounder what really happened it just strikes me as odd. i just didnt know if u could sleep through it his words were "i just woke up and my ear was ripped and there was blood on my pillow. totally calm about it. and his hands couldnt have gone through then they were an inch at most.

is it possible your friend did something stupid whilst stretching said lobe and is just not owning up to that being the culprit?

I guess if they had been stretched too much too fast then they could tear while someone was sleeping but in the normal course of things it does not seem to be likely to happen.

there was a pic on this forum a while ago of some f****d stretched lobes, that seemed that the bottom part of the lobe was basicaly held together from what looked kike just a piece of scab, i guess if ur friends ears were like those, maybe the thin part could break off without feeling it..but my guess would be the guy is bs'ing...

I'm guessing his ears were already really thin and possibly right on the edge of ripping and did something in his sleep to tear it. Even then, I'd imagine he would wake up from it.

If he stretched them very quickly without allowing them time to build up tissue, or if he used weights for most of his stretching, he very well could have had very thin lobes. Had his earlobe gotten to be very thin, I imagine it would be possible to rip through it like that. If he was wearing jewelry he may have rolled over it such that it put all of the weight of his head in one direction, causing it to tear.
