I can't believe what happens when a body is "donated to science."
I don't think that science would approve of any body on this site,
and I have been completely turned off of organ donating.

Have you got any more information about the book, Author etc that you could maybe post/pm me with? :)

Sounds rather interesting and I am looking for a new book to keep me busy over the holidays!!!

I like a part where she is going over the history of 18 & 19th century theater room surgeries.
She mentions one surgeon that uses his finger to remove a bladder stone.
She refers to it as a recalcitrant rock.... (chuckles)

once the family gives the o.k. for an organ donation, that body will be harvested to the fullest...the long bones are removed, your eye lenses are removed, the skin on your back and legs is removed....as far as piercings on the body when you die, they stay on, even if the body is cremated...things that have to be removed during cremation are pacemakers...they can explode and cause damage to the retort....ask me how i know all this

When you are dead I guess it doesn't really matte, but I can't see that anyone would want any of it, so I would just as soon go with it in place.

they have a space to list modifications on the donation sheet but the family never gets ashes back or anything like that.

buried with mine still in. may as well give grave robbers something to look forward to when they dig me up looking for silver.
if I'm cremated then also yes, but they better not spill any marshmallow on them.

Spill the marshmallow? Are you kidding? We have to eat that.
