How would you rate the pain? |

Since you havent got any tattoopictures in ya gallery i assume you dont have any tattoos at all and if this may be your first tattoo, the pain will be quite bigger than doing a piercing.. |

Yeah. I realise it'll be more than a piercing.
I just imagine a palm tattoo to be quite painful, more so than most other places??
Will someone need to sit on my arm to stop me from jerking it away? :P
Maybe I just want some talking in or out of doing it, heh.

just make sure your tattoo artist goes twice as deep with the needle to ensure the pigment sticks. The reason why the tattoo doesnt stay on the top layer is because the skin on the palms sheds at a much faster rate than the rest of the skin on the body, which usually causes the ink to either run or migrate. Also, it will probably be more painful if the needle is going twice as deep but if you want it to stick I think it would be worth it.

Ink on an area used alot tends to come out. My knuckles didn't heal to great, could do with touching up.
Painwise i could not say. As my palms are blank. |

I have a few friends with heavy coverage including palms and apparantly palms are the worst :/
If you're going for a simple design though, as most palm tattoos are, I'm sure it won't be that bad as it'll be over fairly quickly :) |

I have a buddy that has a palm tattoo, he's also covered almost all over, complete sleeves, chest piece and back done, his shins as well. All of that and he still said the palm was the worst by a long shot.

I work with a guy who has a palm tattoo and he said it's not terrible at all. It's just a simple bird, but he tattooed it himself, and has touched it up three times in eight months. It will probably always need touching up, but it's not a bad looking tattoo. I've seen other palm tattoos that look really awful, mainly because the ink doesn't stay well, or it was blown out to try and get the ink to stay in. It's almost guaranteed that you will need multiple touch ups over time.

sorry for bumping the thread, but I had my palm gone over again yesterday. I originally did the tattoo myself, it's an aum symbol with a fussy design around it and i'd say about 99% of fell out completely.
I've now had it done again, the aum symbol is the same but the design around it much simpler (i just put pics up)
I've never so much as squirmed when being tattooed or pierced or hacing my tongue split, but good lord you'd think someone was being murdered in the shop!
Worst pain i can ever remember being in (and i've broken bones, snapped ligaments and had teeth knocked out!)
