Heya peeps.. Im thinking about getting all these piercings done.. My labret..my lip...Industrial..and these weird ones on my ears i have no idea the names of but look cool...BUT.. im not a great believer in the safety and cleanliness of the places around me.. How do i know i can trust their equipment??

Best to just go in and ask questions.  As I stated in another post, they should be more than happy to show you what sets them apart from other people.  Ask to see their Autoclave, that's what is used to sterilize the needles.  At the shop I usually go to for piercings, everytime you get something done, the piercer will show you the marks on the packaging that proves it has gone through the autoclave and is sterilized.  Other things to look for are just general cleanliness.  Is the place dusty, does the trash look like it hasn't been taken out in awhile.  If they are working someone, do they have certain precautions setup to help keep the area clean and if they touch something with their gloves on that they shouldn't, do they change them?  I was once in a shop with a friend who was buying some jewelry, the guy tattooing got up, took her money, gave her change, and went back to doing the tattoo, all without changing his gloves.  I almost shit myself.  So just be sure to ask about their sterilization methods, if they guy gives you any attitude or you get the impression that you are inconvienencing them, just leave.

look for an autoclave

look for an autoclave true....but if they don't have CURRENT (within 30 days) spore test certification on the autoclave, it could be no more effective at sterilization than boiling water.
