stretching isnt painful but if your stretching your lip it might become sore and be a lil tender when you eat

Stretching a labret is a llong time process, you'll have to listen to your body and wait a lot of time if necessary. It doesn't hurt at all, i stretch only when i can accomodate the next size jewelry and it doesn't become tender and sore after a stretch.

my labret piercing doesn't bother me after a stretch either. i too wait until i can accommodate the next size up and i don't have any swelling or tenderness. i've stretched from 16g(1.3mm) and i'm now at 15/32"(11.9), and haven't had any scalpel work done. you can have it pierced larger if you wish, or just have it scalpelled. i don't want any scalpel work done personally but if you want to have a jump start it is a good option.
i think i figured out the ultimate reason why i modify: i just like touching myself.

Ah ha-ha, chess. The ancient contest of wits. Two opponents: mano a mano. Braino a braino. And look: magnets for ease of travel. You could play chess on the moon.
