Hi =)
I'm looking into doing a fasting ritual, as my body is tired and run down. I feel like it would be of great interest for me to cleanse myself and start over with a 'clean slate,' and to use this time to focus on myself, who I am and what I want to do with my life
*plus I'd love to kick my smoking habit*
 
Anyway, I've been searching online and haven't really found what I'm looking for.
 
Have you ever fasted, how long, what did you consume (water, juice etc) did you have any bad side effects and did you find fasting worth it?
 
I'd really appreciate any input

If you feel tired and run down I don't think fasting is the way to go. I would suggest eating the greenest healthiest food you can (also lots of carbs for energy). And drink lots of water. And do lots of exercise. After a week of that you'll feel cleansed and a lot healthier. Good luck.

On the food side of things don't have any refined carbs like sugar and no fatty foods and if you can help it no meat or diary products.

id be really careful if you do it fasting is an easy way to hurt yourself

perhaps instead of looking at fasting, detoxing is a better option. i know there are plenty of articles you could find online about that. but i think ditadahmer advice is pretty sound...if you're already run down i think you need to eat more (healthy) food rather than less as even with detoxing you will most likely get headaches and perhaps even nausea
(my aunt and i took a girlie weekend and did a detox diet while we were at it a few years ago. my skin cleared up, but i sure as hell didn't like denying my body carbs!)

dont fast, it fucks up your body more than what it is worth.
 
Detox.
 
Basically cut all the crap out of your diet, I wont lie I suggest going vegan, get rid of caffiene, alcohol, carbonated drinks, processed stuff.
 
Do that for 2 weeks and exercise and you will feel magical.
