Hmm, I don't know, but I always thought that if you put enough super glue on your fingertips that they wouldn't smudge, or leave prints.

I was thinking about this yesterday when I was fixing my coffee table with super glue and got it everywhere. It stuck to my finger for like a day or two.

That movie makes me laugh.
I got a pretty nasty burn on my fingertip once, but the skin grew back good as new.
Good old-fashioned gloves are the best for crime comitting lol. Although if you're murdering people, with modern technology they'll get you eventually anyway haha.

putting aside the high nerve concentration, risk of infection....and a number of other reasons not to...proceed.....skin grafting seems the most logical route. Perhaps, and its a big theoretical perhaps, you could use a tissue expander along the side of your finger...gradually stretching the skin until you had enough to heavily dermabrade the tips then cut and draw the expanded tissue over the pad.

Ive seen some fine illustrations of finger based tissue expanders, which is where I am drawing my inspiration, though the intent was to produce enough skin to web hands.

I dont know.  I dont think that it would be quite illegal... but then again I doubt that many people have asked the government.

I remember watching a programme a while ago about how to remove fingerprints and I just remember it being very, very painful. acctually,  I think it was connected to the B3ta wabsite. A guy had to scrub his fingertips everyday for a certain amount of time using wire wool and pineapple juice, after a week the pain got so bad he had to stop, and then within a month the fingerprints were visible again.

I have warped fingerprints due to being a dick and nearly losing my thumb and first finger at a festival with a Spam tin! It was nearly 4 years ago and it still hurts if I hit it or catch my thumb right on the scar.

boo to Spam and dirty cheap cider mixed together

1 of my thumbs hasnt got a full fingerprint. i had an accedent with a car cigarette lighter when i was about 7 y/o it stuck to my thumb til i stopped freaking out to let my dad pull it off my thumb. the skin has no nerves left & its rough but no finger print just comes out smooth.

I don't know if this helps at all but I was watching the special features of the extended edition of LOTR and the guys who were in charge of making all of the chain mail lost the finger prints on their thumbs and pointer fingers because of the years of making chain mail.

The best option seems to be scarring your fingers/palms to a degree that would make them beyond comparison to your old prints.

Also I'd imagine you may have a lot less grip on things such as glass and metal.

I don't think its unlawful to modify your finger prints but it might make you more identifiable if scars were on your fingers where ridges would normally be present. I think it was the gangster John Dillinger who put acid on his fingers to try to wipe out his prints but it only made him more identifiable to the FBI. Some occupations such as brick layers keep the friction ridges on the fingers sanded down and make it more difficult to leave prints. Hope this helps.
